ALIGNED AUDIENCE
✨What Works for Sree
Sree’s most powerful tactic is also her simplest: she asks questions. In her welcome sequence and newsletters, she directly asks her audience about their challenges, struggles, and goals. This transforms her email list from a one-way broadcast into a two-way conversation that fuels her entire business.
🏆The Big Wins
- Receives 4 to 6 replies from subscribers every single week, sharing their challenges and asking for guidance.
- This direct feedback loop allows her to create offers that perfectly match what her audience needs right now.
- It builds deep trust with new subscribers, who are often surprised to receive a personal reply from a real person – without a sales pitch.
- The engagement makes writing emails more fun and effective, knowing that she’s speaking to real people on the other end.
- Customer questions led to successful offers like the 30-Day Blueprint for Digital Product Sellers, the Tuesday Trends membership, and this 30 Days of Digital Sales pop-up newsletter.
💡The Idea Behind It
- It Replaces Guesswork with Certainty: It’s the most direct path to understanding your audience. You stop guessing what they want and start creating offers you know they need.
- It Builds Real Relationships: A personal reply is a powerful pattern-interrupt. It shows you care and builds a level of trust that a one-way newsletter never can.
- It Boosts Engagement and Deliverability: When you get replies, it sends a signal to email providers that your content is valuable, which helps you land in the inbox more often.
👉Here’s How To Do It
- In your welcome sequence, add a genuine question and encourage people to hit reply. Try one of these: “What is your biggest challenge when it comes to ____?” or “What would be most helpful for you right now?”
- When you get a reply, make sure you respond with a personalized note. Answer their questions as best as you can.
- Copy the replies (and your comments) to Notion or Google Docs. Once a month, upload it to your AI bestie to extract insights you might’ve missed.
🛠️ Tips & Tools
- Tools: Any Email Service Provider (ESP)
- Tip: Don’t overthink this – just ask whatever you want to know. People are happy to respond when they know it is a genuine question, and not yet another sales tactic.
- Always provide the best answer you can – even if that is “I don’t know”, or redirecting them to someone else.
📌In Her Own Words
“If 1 person asks a question – 10 others have the same question but don’t ask. And 100 others need the answer but don’t know where to find it yet.”
