30 Days of Experiments – Lindsey Regel
Day 24: Bonuses Beat Discounts
Welcome to Day 24 of the 30 Days of Experiments.
This is a pop-up newsletter put together by Sree from Snazzy Designs. I’ve brought 26 creators together to share one short business experiment they have tried – and how you can do the same.

Meet Lindsey Regel
Lindsey helps printable creators turn their ideas into products that actually sell without burnout or underpricing. After 16+ years selling online, she’s learned that growth doesn’t come from making more pages. It comes from creating complete, thoughtful products that deliver a clear outcome for your customer. Through her Scene Creator art collections, Action Weeks, and pricing challenges, she guides creators to package smarter, price confidently, and build sustainable systems.

✨The Experiment
Over the past year, Lindsey started experimenting with offering bonuses instead of traditional discounts in her shop. Her audience never really responded to the classic “50% off ends tonight!!!” type of emails, so she wanted to try something different. Instead of pushing urgency through price drops, she offered special bonuses that were only available before a certain date. She tested this for three months using different types of bonuses: a mystery bonus box, an idea guide with tutorials, and a 7-day creative challenge delivered through email.
🏆The Result
✅ The mystery bonus box tripled her sales compared to previous 50% off flash sales
✅ The idea guide and 7-day creative challenge both doubled sales
✅ She made more sales at a higher price per order
✅ Timeline didn’t matter much – whether the bonus was available for a week or a full month, results were similar
✅ It wasn’t about pressure to buy cheap, it was about higher value and a clear result
🛠️ Tips & Tools
- First, design a bonus that helps people actually use your product, not just collect it. Implementation is more powerful than a small price drop.
- Second, don’t assume urgency has to mean panic. If your audience doesn’t respond to countdown hype, try giving them a meaningful reason to buy now instead.
- Third, test it for more than one launch. One promo doesn’t tell the full story.
💡In Her Own Words
“Ask yourself: ‘Will this help my buyer get a better result?’ When I shifted my focus from ‘what’s a good discount for this?’ to ‘how do I improve their experience?’ I saw the biggest difference.”
